Annual trip to the orchard

This weekend Adam, Lanette and I made our annual trip up to North Georgia to pick up some apples from the orchard. But we went a different one than we've normally been to. This one was much closer. It was raining so we didn't go out to the pumpkin patch or the corn maze. We got lunch at the b-b-q shack. Then we perused the store. It's got different kinds of produce and lots of different jellies, syrups, relishes, chow-chows, and other jarred foods. There's even a section for hand crafted furniture. We got homemade peach ice cream (which are still in season here) and an apple fritter. We shared the ice cream while we sat on a wooden glider.

I love this autumn tradition.

Once I get things done that need doing I will start posting pictures from my trip.

Chow-chows? What is that? Sounds like a fun time even though the rain altered your plans a bit.

Chow-chow is like picadilli. In case you don't know what that is either, it's basically a mixture of spiced and pickled vegetables. They come in many varieties.

How funny. I was typing the exact same sentence that Heather typed first and then looked down and saw it. :) I want to start something similar with the kids. I better find an apple orchard. I doubt I'll find any fresh peach ice cream out here right now though.
:( Glad y'all had fun!!
